Professional Relations Team Grows Again to Better Serve You

We continue to expand our professional relations team at Delta Dental of South Carolina to elevate the levels of service and support for our participating dentists and their practice teams. We’re pleased to introduce Shameka Dickey and Christopher Mele, who have joined our team as professional relations coordinators.

Shameka has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is currently working toward her master of business administration degree. She has three years of industry experience with customer service, claims and provider contracting. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Strayer University. He has more than 10 years of industry experience with customer service, provider credentialing and contracting. Each will be an asset to our participating provider practices with their combined industry experience and knowledge.

Professional relations coordinators help with provider participation agreements, national provider file questions, credentialing and changes in address or tax identification number. In doing so, they keep provider information updated and accurate. Shameka and Christopher will also assist and support the professional relations representatives while they are out of the office visiting our participating dentists.

CJ Westberry has been promoted to professional relations representative. Many of our dentists are familiar with CJ. She previously served as professional relations coordinator and has assisted with contracting, claims and recredentialing. Prior to that, CJ was the administrative assistant for Delta Dental of South Carolina’s sales team for five years. CJ is eager to use her professional relations coordinator experience, along with her sales and industry experience, to assist our participating dentists.

Our professional relations representatives are responsible for network recruitment, relationship building, compliance, utilization review, web training and general service needs in South Carolina. Fellow professional relations representative, Ayesha Pugh, and CJ will visit every participating dentist in the state. Many of you appreciate the personal service that Ayesha has provided to our participating dentist offices over the years. Ayesha, CJ, Shameka and Chris are committed to delivering exceptional service and support to our provider partners and their staff members.
