Network reimbursement and contracting changes

To continue to connect members to participating dentists for quality care at competitive rates, we are making market-based fee adjustments effective January 1, 2022. We developed the fee schedules based on extensive evaluation of the market, and the impact will vary based on each individual dentist’s network participation status, patient volume and utilization patterns.

There are now two network options available for new contracts with Delta Dental of South Carolina (DDSC) – PPO or Premier Exclusive. Dentists who already participate with DDSC will retain their network status currently in place for each existing location. If a dentist adds a new DDSC participating location, they can choose from one of two network options. The same network status choice will be available to any dentist who wants to participate with DDSC as a new participating dentist.

DDSC fee schedules are also now available for 2022, and all network dentists can view their new fee schedules, as of January 1, 2022, online in our provider portal, https://www.deltadentalsc.com/Providers/Login. The impact varies by procedure code, which means the overall impact varies for each dentist.

The network contract changes were made to ensure our network remains competitive and improve access to affordable, quality oral healthcare.
